Residents’ interest in landscape value trade related to wind energy: application of the attitude–behavior framework to willingness to pay

Reducing the undesirable outcomes of wind power (WP) in vicinity homes with forest management practices can increase acceptance WP. If owners would avoid clear felling and use light close to towards turbines, residents might be interested paying for such a ‘landscape shield’ payment ecosystem services (PES) context. The majority (83.7%) survey sample from Finland were participating PES mechanism. On average, they willing pay €80.9 per hectare annually participate landscape value trade arranging shield against turbines. We applied attitude–behavior framework understand factors structures underlying residents’ willingness (WTP). analysis emphasized importance intentions, attitudes, subjective norms over socio-demographic variables explaining WTP.
